Grants of up to £5,000 can be awarded to UK registered charities

Within the following criteria:

  • Providing innovative projects and programmes for disabled people; or
  • Providing front line support for disabled people.

Deafinitely Theatre is the UK’s leading deaf theatre company, providing a vital resource to deaf people in London and regionally. The charity’s creative programme has 4 strands: a theatre production, a bi-annual production for children (both archived as a high-quality DVD with subtitles), a youth drama programme (including a youth theatre and regional outreach workshops) and a skills development scheme. Definitely Theatre also carries out access-based consultancy training with arts organisations.

icandance offers weekly dance classes to children and young people, aged 4 to 25, with physical and learning disabilities. The charity works with 47 dancers in total and hold 5 hour-long classes every Saturday in term time, there are 165 classes annually. The classes are highly subsidised and cost £10. In a secure, joyful and nurturing environment dancers work with highly specialised staff who encourage them to express themselves through dance, regardless of their disability.
